The product portfolio of Bihl+Wiedemann includes an ASi-3 EtherNet/IP +
Modbus TCP Gateway with integrated Safety Monitor (BWU2821). This device
allows a very simple integration of safety systems into standard PLCs,
where the safety is programmed and controlled not in the PLC, but in the
Gateway itself.
Via Safe Link many Gateways can be linked
together to achieve systems with almost 2000 2-channel safe inputs. This
device allows the user to save money since a safety PLC is no longer
required and at the same time all advantages of a 2-wire safety network
can be used with a very simple and time saving installation.
The
ASi-3 EtherNet/IP Gateway, available in the version "1 Gateway, 1 Power
Supply for 2 AS-i networks," features two ASi-3 masters for two ASi
networks and is equipped with advanced diagnostic functions, such as
duplicate address recognition, integrated ASi earth fault detector, ASi
noise detector as well as an Ethernet diagnostic interface. Three
2-channel safe inputs and six safe outputs are already integrated within
the device. And with the integrated Chip Card the configuration data
can be easily stored and transferred.
The ASi-3 Ethernet/IP Gateways from Bihl+Wiedemann are also available without an integrated Safety Monitor.
