As i 3 0 safety gateway 2742 650px

Bihl+Wiedemann has expanded its portfolio of products with an AS-i 3.0 EtherNet/IP + Modbus TCP Gateway with integrated Safety Monitor for CIP Safety over EtherNet/IP (BWU2742). This device allows a very simple integration of the 2-wire safety network called AS-Interface into a PLC with a safety controller. Through this integration the safety system becomes clearer and allows the user to save time during commissioning and maintenance.

The Gateway, available in the version "1 Gateway, 1 Power Supply for 2 AS-i circuits," fits for complex applications, e.g., for large, distributed systems with different safety networks and many safe signals or applications where a lot of standard signals are to be taken into the safety configuration. With the Gateway, safe input slaves are read via CIP Safety and safe output slaves can switch via CIP Safety. Six safe outputs are already integrated in the device. Moreover, safe AS-i outputs are supported in both AS-i circuits.

The CIP Safety Gateway features 2 AS-i 3.0 Master for 2 AS-i circuits and is equipped with advanced diagnostic functions such as duplicate address recognition, integrated AS-i earth fault detector and AS-i noise detector, as well as an Ethernet Diagnostic Interface. With the integrated Chip Card the configuration data can be easily stored and transferred.
