The 1738-AENT adapter extends the value of a Logix Architecture using the ArmorPoint I/O family Logix functions and features. All of the cost-saving features of Logix.are supported at the I/O. The 1738- AENT supports CIP messaging allowing writing and reading of I/O module parameters on-line. This adapter transmits at 10/100 MB on EtherNet/IP networks, delivering a distributed I/O solution in a system requiring speed and repeatability. A comprehensive range of diagnostics is included. For a rack connection, a table of two double words is provided to monitor the fault status for each module. Each bit corresponds to one of the 63 I/O modules on the backplane. For a direct connection, the fault status for the connection is displayed in the input fault tag.
The 1738-AENT allows for multiple owners for input modules which results in higher productivity due to increased speed in the automation system. It reduces the cost of redundant I/O and field devices to accommodate more than one processor, and improves system by insuring that the same source of data is used by multiple processors in the system.
