The 1756-EWEB (EWEB) module for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix® controllers supports EtherNet/IP communications and offers a suite of Web capabilities that enable users to view plant-floor data via Web pages, receive email or pager-based alarm notifications, have read/write access to ControlLogix controllers, and to transmit information to a variety of software applications using Extensible Markup Language (XML) data. In addition, the EWEB supports socket connectivity allowing the ControlLogix controller to communicate to other non EtherNet/IP enabled devices. It is the first module to bring this type of Web functionality to the Logix control platform. EtherNet/IP is based on the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) technology allowing seamless bridging and routing and is completely compatible with standard Ethernet.
