CompactBlock™ Guard I/O™ is an IP20 rated remote I/O node for the control and monitoring of discrete safety devices like light curtains, safety mats, various guarding devices, emergency stop buttons, and safety actuators. Guard I/O is a networked I/O device used to transmit safety data to/from Guard PLC™, GuardLogix®, SmartGuard™ and other CIP Safety controllers on a network. It communicates on DeviceNet using the CIP Safety protocol.

All CompactBlock Guard I/O and ArmorBlock Guard I/O products are designed for reliable operation in industrial environments, plus are TUV and UL certified for functional safety in applications up to SIL3 and category 4. As a proven technology, Guard I/O will detect failures at the I/O and field safety device level, while enhancing operator protection. CompactBlock Guard I/O is available in several I/O types and densities, plus is easy to din rail mount in any enclosure and at any orientation. Guard I/O is especially suited for robotic, point-of-operation, guard-monitoring, and all remote control applications.
