The 1756-DNB ith USB Network Access Port is a single-slot ControlLogix DN scanner that interfaces between DN devices and the ControlLogix controller. It can reside locally to the controller chassis or remotely over ControlNet or EtherNet/IP. Data to and from DN devices are mapped into the tag database of the controller via the DNB module. I/O data size allocation is user-configurable using the RSLogix™ 5000 programming software for optimal efficiency. In addition to being a scanner, the 1756-DNB can also act as a Gateway module allowing data bridging between DN and the ControlLogix backplane. When used in conjunction with other Gateway modules in the chassis, communication between a DN network and other NetLinx networks (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet) can be established.

Performance: supports up to 124 input and 123 output words (32-bit) of data from up to 63 network slave devices.

Easy Configuration: the 1756-DNB is fully supported by RSNetWorx™ for DeviceNet configuration tool.

Diagnostics: the module is equipped with a 4-char diagnostic display and several LED's to show network and device status. Various DNB and slave device status can be easily obtained in the ControlLogix controller tag database.

Other Features: Automatic Device Replacement (ADR): the 1756-DNB with 1 Meg Memory supports all aspects ADR - Auto Address Recovery (AAR) and Configuration Recovery (CR); Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) enabled; and Slave-mode and flash firmware upgradeable.
