The EtherNet/IP to DeviceNet Linking Device from Rockwell Automation allows you to seamlessly integrate your Control- and Information-level networks with your Device-level networks. One side of the linking device is a DeviceNet Scanner with the capacity to handle 496 bytes input words and 492 bytes output words of data from DeviceNet compliant devices such as sensors, drives, I/O blocks, pneumatic valves, etc. The other side is an EtherNet/IP adapter. The 1788-EN2DN has two main functions: a DeviceNet Scanner, and an explicit messaging bridge from EtherNet/IP to DeviceNet.
With the EtherNet/IP-to-DeviceNet Linking Device, you can:
-
Control. A scanner class device on EtherNet/IP, such as a PLC or Logix-based controller, or a Robot controller can control, in real time, a device connected to the DeviceNet network via the linking device.
-
Configure. Using RSNetWorx™ for DeviceNet running on a PC with EtherNet/IP, you can configure your drives, sensors, I/O blocks -- in fact, any device on DeviceNet via the linking device.
-
Collect. With RSView® or a HMI on EtherNet/IP, data can be collected from any of the devices on DeviceNet for display, trending, monitoring, etc. via the linking device.
