Stratix5100 wireless router 283

Wide deployment of EtherNet/IP in industrial automation means there is a growing demand to properly manage the network and extend its each within the manufacturing zone. Wireless networks provide connectivity in hard-to-wire and remotely accessible areas, increasing productivity and efficiency on the plant floor.

To answer this demand, the Allen-Bradley Stratix 5100T can function as a wireless access point (AP) or a work group bridge (WGB) in both autonomous and unified networks. One device can provide the ability to create a complete wireless network. When you have devices that cannot connect to the wireless network organically, you can use the WGB mode. Using the Stratix 5100 as a work group bridge allows you to connect up to 19 IP addresses, while providing wireless connectivity to wired clients that are connected using TCP/IP like EtherNet/IP. This design flexibility makes accessing critical production data easier in a network with multiple remotely accessible devices - helping reduce design time and operational costs when integrating machines and equipment into the industrial control network. Using a Cisco IOS, the Stratix 5100 provides world class performance and configuration options.

This device also provides premier integration into the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture® system through an EtherNet/IP stack incorporated into the firmware of the access point. It will then have the ability to extract detailed diagnostic information from Stratix 5100 devices into Studio 5000 Automation Engineering and Design EnvironmentT to help improve decision making.
